Great Bernera-  

Although it is considered to be part of the Isle of Lewis, Great Bernera is actually an island in its own right. Since 1953 Bernera has been connected to mainland Lewis by a road bridge. This road bridge is one of the few bridges crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Nevertheless, Bernera is typical of a small island community (population of approx. 300) with a strong and passionate community spirit.

Bernera's landscape is low and rolling, dotted with lochs and varied shores on to the sea. It is famous for its expansive white sandy beach at Bosta, with a reconstructed Iron Age house alongside.

We offer a range of experiences, which can be had in different ways.  Our popular 200 hp power rib, exhilarating and exciting. Also we offer trips in our 15m commercial work boat, with this slower more relaxing experience you have a warm wheelhouse and a large deck to walk around, and this boat is perfect for fishing trips. Fishing with a twist can also be taken on our Kingfisher 26 commercial Lobster creel boat, here you can experience what being a fisherman/woman is like, setting and lifting creels (this is not for the faint hearted).  We can also take you out and set sail, with our sailing yacht (Shangri – La) where you can experience the peace and tranquillity of the Western Isles.
