Your Booking
We operate a booking system. If passengers turn up without a booking, we will be able to take them out at short notice only if we have boats available.
We must highlight to you that although we leave a gap of 30 minutes between trips, sometimes, if the booking previous to yours arrives late, or if the boat is held up due to weather conditions, or other navigational or safety issues, then this might impact on your booking time.
We will do our utmost to make sure that you get out on time but ask your consideration if on the very rare occasion you are held up due to circumstances outside our control.
Vessel Safety
All the boats are fitted with the very latest safety equipment and all of our crew members are fully trained and qualified to meet the requirements of Marine Safety Regulations.
Departure Point
All sailings depart from Kirkibost Pier unless otherwise stated in our timetable, or if you wish to be collected anywhere else at extra cost.
Wheelchairs
Please note that Marine Safety Regulations deem that the vessels unsuitable for wheelchairs
Weather
Please note that we reserve the right to cancel even at short notice any boat ride if the weather conditions make the sea state very unsafe to take you out. We cannot control the weather and when this happens common sense must prevail.
Reservations & Cancellations
Pre-booking is essential for all Trips to avoid disappointment
Reservations will only be confirmed on receipt of 25% deposit. Islands of Adventure reserves the right to cancel any trip where the minimum number of passengers is not reached. In such cases where there are insufficient passenger numbers, Islands of Adventure s’ liability to the Customer is the full return of monies paid for the trip.
Where the Customer cancels a reservation, refunds will be given under the following conditions:
•If notice of cancellation is given more than 24 hrs before departure: Full refund.
•If notice of cancellation is given less than 24 hrs before departure: The deposit of 25% is non-refundable.
Insurance
Islands of Adventure maintains insurance meeting all statutory requirements, however we strongly recommend that passengers hold comprehensive and suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance. The vessel’s carry full Marine Insurance .
Prices
Our published prices on the website and in our brochures are valid from 1st April 2011. Prices may change according to fuel price rises.
Infants and Children
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, we do not recommend that children under the age of 8 travel.
General Notes
Please arrive 15 minutes early.
For your own safety please keep everyone and especially children away from the pier and pontoon.
Bernera, even in the height of summer, is not always hot! Out at sea, it may be chilly even if it is warm ashore. Please bring warm clothes, sun cream, sunglasses and perhaps a hat!
MISUSE OF DRUGS / ALCOHOL- Drugs and Alcohol or other unlawful goods or substances are prohibited on board the vessel at all times and Islands of Adventure shall not be liable or responsible for any breach of this condition by any of the passengers.
Cruise \ Trip
All decisions regarding the safety of the vessel, and all those on board rest ultimately with the Skipper. The Skipper may refuse to carry any passenger on any trip for any reason relating to the safety of the vessel or the passengers or of any of the other property on board the vessel. If such circumstances should arise, the passenger shall not be entitled to, nor shall he/she receive, any compensation or payment whatsoever except that if a passenger is refused carriage on any trip the Company shall refund to that passenger any fare paid to the Company in respect of that cruise.
